Bass Soloist:
Active as a double bass soloist, Barry performs recitals in the Bay Area and
on tour. The following Santa Cruz Program shows collaboration with local
jazz/classic composer/pianist Larry Dunlap. Prior to re-locating in the Bay
Area, Barry was known for a unique concert series in Cincinnati called THE
BIG GREEN MACHINE...
These theme concerts included jazz, classical, avante-garde, vocal, klezmer,
new age, dance, theater, and family concerts with zoo animals.
Barry Green
appeared as soloist with the Cincinnati Symphony in his final season as
Principal Bassist..performing Jon Deak's tone poem based
on the story of
Jack and the Beanstalk..Concerto for Bass and Orchestra... Green frequently
plays public recitals, concerts for young children and appears as soloist
with orchestra. Recent concerto appearances included Frank Proto's
Carmen Fantasie
for Bass and Orchestra performed with Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra(California),and
Sun Valley, (Idaho) Summer Symphony. A recent solo recital program from
UC Santa Cruz is also encluded.
