JAZZ COURSE
3 1/2 Days: July 9-July 12, 2009
Sessions begin at 1:00 p.m. with Robert Hurst July 9th in VCPA main auditorium
•This course is designed for the jazz bassist (acoustic).
Electric bass will be included as doubling instrument for acoustic players including a special session with Michael Manring.
Mark Dresser will also lead a free improvisation session.
Other assisting faculty will post topic sessions and also be available for some private lessons-coachings.
Participants will likely be performing on Sunday Farewell concert at 3:00 p.m. July 12th.
Bring your basses, pick-ups, small amplifier for electric bassists, rock stops, stools, music stands, manuscript paper, and tape recorder.

*Plan to arrive and ready to participate in the opening session Thursday July 10 at 1:00p.m at the Regional Center of the Performing Arts. Plan to stay for the Bass Bonanza Concert featuring Robert Hurst, Michael Manring, Mark Dresser, Kristin Korb and David Murray (included in your tuition) at 8:00 p.m. in the RCPA. There will be a benefit raffle at the concert as well.
