This course is designed for the jazz bassist (acoustic).
Electric bass will be included as doubling instrument for acoustic players.
Bring your basses, pick-ups, small amplifier for electric bassists, rock stops, stools, music stands, manuscript paper, and tape recorder.
The Ray Brown Jazz Bass Course will cover:
Creating walking bass lines,
Chords, scales, technical exercises, theory
Jazz repertoire
Jazz soloing
Sound projection (acoustic)
Transcribing, Ear development and more!
Special Electric Bass ensemble and lecture demonstrations
Small and large group ensembles

*Plan to arrive and ready to play for the opening session Thursday July 13th at 4:00p.m at the Regional Center of the Performing Arts. There will also be an 'in house' private evening Cabaret Concert featuring all the faculty of the GGBC and Ray Brown Jazz course in the Valley Center for the Performing Arts.
