This short course is designed for bassists of any age who want a better grasp of bow technique, sound production with German and French bows, left hand fingering systems (pivot, shifting, parallel, crab system,harmonics) including the organization positions on the fingerboard.
There will be group exercises plus individuals will receive short private lessons with some faculty.
Standing position will be encouraged.

Suggested reference books:

Rabbath Technique books 1-II or III,Vade Mecum by George Vance, scale books, publications of Gary Karr. All teaching materials will be provided to the participants.

Plan to report to Valley Center for the Performing Arts (Main auditorium) for the opening session Thursday June 28th at 4:00p.m. Bring your instruments. There will also be an 'in house' private evening Cabaret Concert featuring all the faculty of the
GGBC and Ray Brown Jazz Course in the Valley Center for the Performing Arts.
Refreshments will be served.
Meals can be purchased in the cafeteria.
Course includes admission to the Bass Bonanza Faculty Concert at 8:00p.m. in the Valley Center for the Performing Arts. Saturday schedule is
10:00a.m.-5:00p.m., Sunday schedule is 10:00a.m. until the end of the 3:00p.m. Concluding Concert in the VCPA.
